What we do
Global Buildings Performance Network
GBPN supports policy reform to decarbonise the building sector. We combine global insights with local action, working with governments to educate, implement and reform building policies and performance.
Founded in 2011, GBPN has evolved from a global think-tank into an active facilitator. We leverage our network, our intellectual capital, our expertise and our evidence to start change at a local level.
Our experts are located in more than 20 countries, supporting change by forming coalitions with industry and governments.
Our Focus
By 2050 there will be 280 billion m2 more buildings than today — primarily in Asia.
Collectively, India, Indonesia and S.E. Asian Countries are already among the largest sources of building sector greenhouse emissions. GBPN’s aim is to collaboratively reform energy regulations and housing policy, focusing on the regions where we will have the biggest impact.
The way we build has to change — but change can’t happen without the right people.
That's why we're committed to bringing the right voices together at a local level.
In Asia we have already had significant recent success, delivering projects and forming active coalitions across Indonesia, Cambodia and India — with more to follow.
Our coalitions of experts and building practitioners work with governments to support, educate and build change; while our resources and insights are bringing the latest knowledge to the front-line.
We're enabling low-energy building practices to become mainstreamed; reducing emissions and improving the health and well-being of residents. We're mitigating the costs of today and tomorrow. Together we can decarbonise the Asia buildings sector from 2030.
